Mandrill Television launched in October 1994 to specialise in making long-running documentary and lifestyle television series.

From humble beginnings (it started in a spare room in the MD’s home!), the company grew quickly, winning numerous series commissions from regional ITV and BBC and new digital channels.

Repeat business, particularly from multichannel clients including Discovery Europe and UKTV fuelled the growth of the business and led to its eventual move to a new production centre on the western outskirts of York.

From here, our core team are joined by many freelancers making up to seven series a year. When our busiest production Weddings Live went on air - we were employing 106 people!
